Zenzai (traditional Japanese dessert) at Funawa Cafe

Zenzai (traditional Japanese dessert) at Funawa Cafe

Funawa was founded in Asakusa in 1902. It is a long-established Japanese confectionery shop. Imo-yokan (bar of sweet-potato paste) and Anko-dama (Bean jam ball) is famous.
Funawa are located throughout the country, but the cafe is only Tokyo.
There are three Funawa cafe in Tokyo. Asakusa, Jiyugaoka, Takadanobaba
The other day, I had a tea in Funewa cafe in Takadanobaba.
I ordered Zenzai.
Zenzai
thick bean-meal soup containing sugar

and rice cakes
and chestnut compote
Hojicha (roasted green tea)
Anko (red bean paste) was very delicious, smooth and elegant sweetness. Rice cake cooked was the exquisite. It does not get tired even to eat many times. Cafe was very quiet and calm. I had a great time. If you are interested, try to eat a traditional Japanese dessert "Zenzai". It is very recommended.
